About

Some of my journey

In the beginning, I was an actor living and working in New York City. Life in a rent controlled apartment on east 17th street provided me with a rich perspective on human nature. Nearby, the Union Square Farmer’s Market offered seasonal delicacies. Later, after 911 the square held and cradled thousands of people, day and night as they searched, mourned and connected.

In my neighbourhood, an end of day cocktail on the collective stoop was more entertaining and cost effective than any movie ticket – exception being almost any theatre ticket.

One lovely Summer, my Father, a seascape painter and I took a painting workshop on Monhegan Island. THIS reignited my joy of visual arts – leading me to a BFA from Parsons School of Design in 1998. Working as a visiting faculty member in the product design department was extraordinary. The salary not so extraordinary. With a BA already under my belt, I needed three years to complete the BFA program at Parsons.

After 911 I found myself visiting Chicago more frequently. To my delight, I married and relocated to the South Loop neighbourhood.

Today I live work and study in Las Cruces New Mexico where the sunshine is constant, the people friendly and life moves at a much calmer pace. Studying in NMSU’s MFA program has filled my mind and heart with many new ideas  and friendships.
